Boss RT-2
The RTâ2 Rotary Ensemble authentically captures the mesmerizing modulation effects of vintage rotary speakers in a spaceâsaving BOSS compact pedal. Initially developed for organs in the 1940s, rotary speakers used motorâcontrolled components that physically spun at variable speeds, producing a rich, dimensional sound that guitarists and other musicians have used to infuse classic tracks with deep, swirling character.
At the heart of the RTâ2 is a faithful recreation of this iconic sound, featuring a spinning highâfrequency horn (treble rotor) and a rotating drum for low frequencies (bass rotor). Transitioning between fast and slow rotor speeds produces expressive tonal shifts, now enhanced with modern flexibility thanks to dualâspeed control, a Rise/Fall Time switch for adjusting transitions, and a colorful virtual rotor display that shows the current rotation state in real time.
The Drive knob introduces vintageâstyle tube saturation, from mild warmth to gritty breakup. A rearâpanel Drive/Balance switch allows this same knob to adjust the volume balance between treble and bass rotors. Your most recent settings for drive and balance are automatically saved and recalled on powerâup. The RTâ2 also supports advanced control with expression pedals or external footswitches, including a rotor âbrakeâ effect that stops the virtual rotors midâmotion for unique textures.
Key Features:
- Authentic rotary speaker sounds and behaviors condensed into a spaceâsaving BOSS compact pedal
- Three versatile modes include a vintage rotary sound and two modified tones with enhanced spatial effects
- Virtual rotor display with lights that indicate treble and bass rotor speeds
- Fast/Slow rotor speed control
- Drive knob adds vintageâstyle tube saturation
- Rise/Fall Time switch adjusts the transition time between rotor speeds
- Drive/Balance switch assigns the Drive knob to control either saturation or treble/bass volume balance
- Four selectable pedal switch modes for bypassing the effect and controlling the rotor speed in various ways while performing
- Support for advanced control with external footswitches or an expression pedal (speed, brake, and other functions)
- Mono/stereo input and output
- Two stereo output modes: standard stereo (default) or individual wet and dry outputs
- BOSS fiveâyear warranty
